Default Rm 125 02

hi there hope you can help me my rm 125 02 since i have had it is sluggish pulling away chucks out a bit of smoke .i changed front and rear sprockets to lower gearing and mix to 40/1. i ordered a new piston which i was putting in yesterday and came across the problem i hope the linkage on the power valve from the barrel to lower casing plastic clip was broken so linkage had been swinging around unattached would this be why it has trouble pulling away i have had the bike about 3 months .any help will be appreciated .

the exhaust power valve is designed to improve low end power. Get it fixed and I'm sure you'll notice a difference.
