Default Mini Trail Bike Brake Issues

i have a mini trail bike made by baja motor sports. i have had the bike for a couple weeks now. i recently brought it to some trails down in mexico where there were many points where braking was required. i rode for a couple hours that day and now the brakes make an ear piercing screech when you brake at any speed. they are drum brakes. a friend told me that my brakes have "glazed" over from overheating and smoothening them selves out. he reccomended to roughen them up, but i have no idea how to get inside of the drum brakes. do i need to take the whole wheel off?

Yup (I think). Try to get a manual for your bike if you can. It shouldnt be too difficult to do.

In the manual it tells you how to adjust the brakes, but not get into the brakes.
