93 rm 125 idle help

I bought my little brother a old suzuki 125 1993. It runs real well when your on the throttle, but i can't get the darn thing to idle at all, i've tried adjusting the carb, air screw and such, but it still just dies out. It also smokes a lot and there is gas leaking out of the carb overflow tube, i made sure the floats are at factory, 14mm. I mixed 32:1 but i did change the type oil from what the original owner was using, he was using klotz bean, and i changed to gold spectra just becouse the klotz was not available at our local shops. (kind of in the boonies).
since its winter i really don't want to change the jetting, any ideas?

1. did you drain the old gas before adding the new golden spectro mix?

2. does it have a fresh top end/ good compression, excessive smoke is a sign of worn rings

3. if you set the floats i'm sure you probably cleaned the jets out as well?


if you answered yes to all of these, you'll most likely need a smaller pilot jet
