Does any one know if the stock muffler on the '84 LT50 has a spark arrestor in it or not?

Are you needing an exhaust? I saw on another site where fmf make a really cool aftermarket exhaust!

It does not need a new exhaust yet but we are going riding where a spark arrestor is needed. Looking inside the muffler I can see a screen but it is collapsing a bit at the top and it is pretty deep in the muffler. All of the spark arrestors I have seen are at the end of the muffler.

Yes, Ithink you are right. It is just a little tip at the end of the pipe. Is that what you were thinking of?

On my quad it is an attachment but I have an aftermarket exhaust. I would think that stock mufflers would have it inside. I guess as long as there is no way around the screen it doesn't matter how deep it is.
