Default RM250 WONT START :(

Hey guys i am new to this site.. i hope you can help me out i got an 85' rm 250 and i put a new top end in it today... and we got it to run for about 40 second intervals before it stalled out.. what is the reason why it would not start... i noticed the compression was lower than normal (about 40 lbs total) lol... and that when we did get it to run it was heavy heavy white smoke shooting out of my exhaust... we took the carb apart and cleaned it out all the jets and nooks and crannies were clean of grime and dirt, what is the reason why this thing wont start??? new plug, top end, fluids, gas, etc and yes there is spark... one thing thats a possibility is that i over filled the crank case with transmission fluid/oil and its getting into the top end... could this be true??? any help please lol...... thanks guys

piston rings. white smoke means combustion is passing by the piston though bad rings and up int othe top end where it could eathier be fouling your plug or runnin it way way too rich and causing the bike to stall. id pull of the top end and take a look at the piston rings.
