| I have a 2002 DRZ250 with the California only Carburetor. After having my alternator go out in Laos and being forced to ride without battery or charging system for 2 weeks I have developed an electrical problem. The alternator was rewound and appears OK. Now the engine will miss and backfire and fail to rev, usually when cold, sometimes when hot. If you turn off the ignition key and then turn it back on, it will run fine. This may occur 2 or 3 times and then it will be OK until the next time it is parked for any length of time. It will also sometimes clear up just by closing the throttle for a short time. . The carburetor and fuel are clean. This has mechanics here stumped and parts are not readilly available to do any swapping. Strange problem, any ideas???????? Edit/Delete Message |
