Default fork air release

my yz has aftermarket triple clamps that position the handlebars directly over the air release screw so that i have to take off the handlebars to release the built up air, so how important is it to release this air before riding or how often should i release it

You want to release air anytime your suspensions been compressed or riddin ie after transporting it and having it compressed per ratchet straps or similar. Or just plain riding it will build up air. It changes the tuning of your forks and may also cause it to blow a seal if it has too much pressure.

They make a little tool that you can slide between your fork cap and handlebar to release the air. Its basically a round flat piece of metal with a flat head screwdriver tip in the center. Costs about 15 bucks but you can probably make one for cheaper.
