| if you can find a ktm 200 exc snatch it up easiest 2-stroke ever to be fast on, the rmx had a good reputation and won many gncc's in its day but i haven't ridden one, i have have ridden both 2 & 4 stroke wr's and really loved them especially the 426

| a buddy of mine had one that he rode for over a year with nothing but oil/filter changes it was a 2001 i think. In my area i see clean 1999-2002 models for around 2-3 grand. as far as parts being expensive i have heard both ways, but i think they are getting more competitive with the big four in prices

| again the yamaha wr250 (the older two stroke version) i thought was a great bike but maybe a little intimidating if your not a seasoned rider, i watched a begginner loop one on take off and bury a peg in his leg, i imagine the rmx250 is similiar. i have no idea of the wr250f availability/price in Australia but they are excellent trailbikes if you can settle for a 4 stroke and honda xr250's are absolutely bulletproof i had a '92 that would just not die

| my brothers friend had one as an spare bike that he let others beat up on and it held up well. its basically a yz with a wide ratio trans and bigger tank so the parts are readily available(in the states anyways). would make a fine enduro machine, and they are aggressive enough to take to the track also
