Default Suzuki DR 200 SE

Hi! I recently bought a 2002 DR200SE ( my first bike ) . I was wondering if it is normal to consistently open the throttle while in idle to keep the motor from dying. Plus, I hear a faint buzzing sound whenever i apply my front brakes, like an eletrical buzzing sound.

I would greatly appreciate any opinions/suggestions. Thanks!

No, it's not normal.

Do you know the maintenance history of the bike? Maybe the idle setting is too low but could be the carbs need a cleaning.

I'll the more mechanically inclined people answer.

For the brakes, I assume the sound is coming from the front wheel. try cleaning with brake cleaner. There's could be some dirt/grim between the disk and brake pad.

Good luck.

Thanks Louis. From what the previous owners said, the bike was stored for quite a long time. They had to service it to get it to run again before they sold it to me. Cleaning my carb would probably be the best choice to fix the problem. I heard they were expensive, would you happen to know about how much? From another topic in this forum, i heard sea foam may help too. Any further suggestions? Thanks!!!

Yes, start with Seafoam. Never used it myself but from what I saw on this forum, Seafoam is great.

If you still have problems, you might need to dismantle the carbs for a thorougher cleaning.

Good luck!

I used some Sea foam yesterday. It seems to be working a little so far. I can tell the idle is getting smoother. I really hope it will fix my weak idle problem.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy some kerosene at?
