Default What carb do I have

This is a pic of the carb on my DR200. Does anyone know the official Mikuni model number? It is 29 mm bore. This is the same carb that is fitted to DR200's everywhere. Is it a TM, TMX, TMR or maybe a HS? There are so many variations that it is hard to tell.

Sorry, can't help you there. If I needed valves, I would go to a performancew engineering workshop and have them made. I know there are places around that can machine titanium valves - try the classifieds in car mags. I'm sure they will do bike valves as well if you give them the originals and the head. I've heard of a few DRs that have burnt valves, but I haven't had any problems with mine. I re-cut the seats when I had the engine apart.
Here's another pic of the bike as it was when I bought it:
(that's my father in the pic, not me)
It's only clean because when the pic was taken, it was being rebuilt. Now that I'm riding it, it's not so clean. In fact, the other day I went and bought a high pressure waterblaster so that I could clean all the mud off it. The hose just wasn't enough. It's just coming into winter here, and it's been raining heavily. I have 10 acres of track right outside the garage door, and its turning into 1 big mudpit.
I'm on the lookout for a new seat cover. My suzuki dealer says that this has been discontinued for this bike. I might take it to an upholsterer and see what they can do.

What size Jet or (jets) did you replace the ones in ur carb with?
and what else did u have to do to the carb other than drill the box.? like the thordle valve needle did ya have to move that any?

big improvment or what?

also do ya know if the head from the old LT230's quad sports and quad runners will work on the DR200?

The jets are 125 main and 30 pilot. The jets are Kheine, not Mikuni, but they fit. I tried moving the needle the circlip down one notch, but found it ran better back in the original (centre) groove. The jets made a big improvement in the low rev range. It will pull hard almost from idle. The biggest improvement came from the 52 tooth sprocket on the rear (14T on the front). Heaps of torque but loss of top speed.
I also got a bit technical with the rear suspension. It can be stifffened up by changing the offset of the eccentric roller. This meant machining a new roller with the hole through it a bit closer to the centre by about 2 mm. I did try a spacer under the shock spring, but this made it bottom out quicker, so I took it out. I overfilled the front forks as well to give it a bit better dampening. I've thought about an aftermarket exhaust, but that will be quite expensive. So far the bike has not cost me too much. I bought it for NZ$700, and spent about $500-600 on rebuilding. NZ$1= US$0.55 roughly.
I'm not sure about the LT heads fitting. I do know that a lot of suzuki parts are interchangeable but not sure exactly which ones. I think the LT160 has the same head (i know it shares the same air filter).
