YES, I know its a 2 cycle and it is supposed to smoke! But this thing REALLY smokes. It looks like my daughter is fogging for mosquitoes! I recently rebuilt the motor so I may have done something wrong. The thing starts great and has plenty of power. It carries me, 225 lb as fast as I want to go on the little beast. Other than the smoke it's a great little machine. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate the response. Thanks, Jeff

| What gaz/oil ratio are you using ? How about your plugs ? are they the recommended ones for your bike if they're not "hot" enough they're not burning all the residue from the combustion cycle. Of course if you rebuilt it and gaskets weren't installed correctly or piston rings aren't seated right fuel mix could be getting blown right out the exhaust.

This one has the auto oiler so I'm not controlling the mix. I purchased the plug with the rest of the rebuild parts so I assume the guy gave me the right one. The only gasket I remember is between the jug and the crank case. Doesn't seem to be any leaks in this area. If I put it together wrong wouldn't it be hard to start or lack power? Thanks, Jeff

You might try this, this has bit me before... I've got an 87 - 230 quadsport, rebuilt the engine, and it smoked like blazes. Had me baffled, took everything apart, got the manual out and followed it to a tee. Come to find out when I originaly put the head on there are brass washers and steel washers, if they are not installed in the correct positions it will smoke like crazy. Sounds simple but its true.

Thanks for that bit of info about the beginners bike not beeing a ''little'' 600cc. I respect that in a bike raider!!! I heard of many accidents here in Namibia where I live about beginners with large bikes, they blame it on the bike.... man I hate them people!!!
