Raceway Park motocross Opens for 31st Anniversary Season.

Old Bridge Township’s Raceway Park opens for the 31st anniversary season of motocross racing on March 12. The Yamaha Motorcycles sponsored series opener is the first of many events planned for this milestone season. Motocross racing is the sibling outdoor version of its more famous indoor stadium version Supercross. Supercross and motocross racing is famous worldwide and has national TV coverage on cable television. Raceway Parks hosts racing for all skills and ages of riders. There are classes for everyone from the four year old beginners to the over forty year old expert racers. This season’s schedule contains 17 motocross events, 8 pit bike motocross events, 6 pee-wee youth motocross events and 2 quad racing as well as separate practice days and motocross schools. The local track is thought by many to be one of the best in the country and over the years has been ridden by the who’s who of the sport of motocross. Multi-time National champions Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, and X-Games champion Travis Pastrana have all raced one the famous Raceway Park motocross track. Raceway Park, located in the heart of Central New Jersey just 35 miles south Raceway Park, located in the heart of Central New Jersey just thirty-five miles south of New York City and the four boroughs surrounding NYC and just fifty five miles northeast of Philadelphia will celebrate forty-one (41) years of fast family fun in 2006.

Raceway Park conducts a very wide variety of motorsport events including Championship NHRA Drag Racing, Championship AMA Semi-Pro Motocross racing, WKA Karting, Auto shows, Sport Compact & Import Shows, Junior Drag Racing, Musical concerts including festivals like the annual Warpped Tour, Auto flea markets, motocross practice tracks, theme events, family shows, monster truck shows, and much, much more. Opening soon will be an all-new 1.3 mile paved road racing course for cars and motorcycles.

Annual attendance (based on fair weather conditions) is 560,000 people per year at more than two hundred different events conducted between March and November.

Over eleven hours of televised Raceway Park events air on ESPN and ESPN2 each year.

Raceway Park attracts a mixed demographic audience at the many different events hosted. The primary age attraction is both male and female’s ages 18 through 54.

Racing fans are very brand loyal as proven through different studies.

Fans attending weekly Raceway Park events travel from:
Northern, NJ 17%, Central, NJ 16%, Southern, NJ 3%, Long Island, NY 16%, Staten Island, NY, 8%, Queens, NY 14%, Brooklyn, NY 13%, Bronx, NY 8%, Manhattan, NY 1%, Conn. And PA 4%. These figures were surveyed from spectators and not participants.

Raceway Park is a high profile motorsports venue. The busiest multi purpose venue in the NY / NJ / Philadelphia metro area located on over 500 acres of land in Old Bridge NJ.

Raceway Park has maintained a long list of loyal prestige sponsors over the last forty years of operation. 2005 sponsors included: NY / NJ Dodge Dealers Advertising Assoc., Goodyear, NY /NJ McDonald’s 660 restaurant group, Pepsi-Cola, Castrol, Budweiser, Snap-On Tools, QuickChek, P.C.
