| Yo, i took my bike out the other day to start it becasue i have been having a few clutch problems, and the clutch works o.k. now, but when i turned on the gas it started peeing out if the overflow tubes. i called my freind and he said lightly tap the carb. bowl with a hammer because the float is probably stuck. so i did and now it just drips, any ideas on a fix? and what is the best trans. oil to use. i am using sparco clutch saver but i was told that, that is a bad oil. am i being bulls**ted or is he right? if so wat should i use? btw: i was inspecting my clutch with the help of my manual and i did it with the bike laying on its side could that have messed up the float? Thx. Last edited by MikeFry; 02-16-2006 at 10:09 PM. |

| Your friend gave some good advice on the leaking carb. the float has a small needle valve attached to it that opens and closes with the height of the float. If it gets dirt on it or is worn out it wont seal properly and this will cause gas to continually flow into the float bowl and then leak out the overflows. take the carb aprt and clean it and inspect the needle valve for dirt and wear.

| Read the bottle of oil and see what it says. 2 Stroke gearboxes have oil that only lubes the gearbox and clutch. It is different from a 4 stroke that does double duty of lubbing the crank and valvetrain along with the gearbox. I am sure it is a good oil but I would call or email or read the bottle. and make sure it will work for your application.
