Default A better DRZ400

After about 1000 miles on my 2004 DRZ400 there are a few thngs I wish Suzuki would have changed in the design. The most useful item would have been a 6 speed transmission with a lower 1st gear and the rest of the ratios the same. This would truely make it a better dual purpose with enough speed for freeway commutes and and low enough gearing for tight trail riding.

Other changes - mostly nits
An electric tach in the instrument pod
Factory luggage rack
and of cousre less weight

How about a lower seat height ? At 37 inches (seat hgt), its the tallest dual purpose bike I've ever seen.

I agree about the trans gearing. I plan to put a bigger rear sprocket on my DR350SE for the same reason.

I have rather long legs and so on level ground the seat hieght is not a problem but putting a foot down on a steep slope is a problem.
