Default What to look for?

Hey everyone this is my first post in the suzuki forum. I've been lookin lately at buying a used suzuki Rm 125. since im buying it used i dont know what to look for before buying it. I just got the parents aproval to letting me buy a new one im moving up from my Suzuki fa50(which is for sale) And i was wondering if you guys could tell me some things to look out for when buying a used bike.

Well if you can get someone to go with you that has some experiance that would be the first piece of advice. Here are some things to look for.

Overall condition (does the bike look clean and in one piece)
Front forks (look at the fork seals and see if they are leaking any oil)
Rear shock(does it go up and down smoothly with no binding or squeeking)
Tires (Worn out or cut)
Rims (loose or missing spokes or bent rims)
Motor ( does it start easy, does it idle, does the motor knoc or rattle badly)
Chain and sprokets (are they sharp and rounded forward which is not good)
Is the chain stretched out look at the adjusters.
Condition of the brakes
Look at the bottom of the motor and frame rails for cracks underneath
Any service records
If you can ride it make sure the clutch works and the bike idles with the clutch in and the bike in gear
also see if it will shift thru all the gears smoothly
