| I did a search and haven't really found what needs to be done in order to remove the oil injection. Also has anyone confirmed that removing the 2nd jet helps any? Anyone have any information? Thanks Alain |

| I removed the second jet and removed the oil tank. All you gotta do for the oil tank is cap the nipple with something so dirt doesnt get in. Then of course run premix. For the jet, I noticed a difference in revs but havent confirmed the theory yet as my sons bike lacks power possibly due to blow-by. Im tired of fixing the darn thing and still waiting for the TTR-50E to get into stores here. Never again the JR50. Love my RM250 and DRZ125L though.

| I wanted to add my 2c here, I am rebuilding a 1978 Jr50C the first year they were out btw. I was contemplateing removeing it but decided against. first off looking at the system it almost cant fail unless abused. It is really well designed on the JR! that said there is a design flaw, no it will not fail. but you might cause it inadvertantly. The oil pump is driven by the input shaft of the transmission. that is to say if the bike is in gear and standing still, the oil injection pump IS NOT PUMPING!!! this is not a problem for short times like 2 or 3 min but could become a problem if left for a long period. I am leaveing it working now that I know this. simply becuase of other draw backs. IE, kids fill tank with premix oh darn it gets double oil it fouls plugs easy fix clean plug refill tank done... other way? needs premix kids fill with straight gas it eats a piston....... Least we forget its a kids bike, kids will use it, they dont exactly have experience or understanding of why we put oil in there..... Last edited by Dale.E; 10-24-2007 at 01:19 PM. |
