Default Tank Edge Trim from Cruiser Customizing

I must be dumb but is there any trick to putting this stuff on? I tried tonight and it just does not want to go on? I did not get any instructions with it so I don't know what I am doing wrong. Your constructive thoughts would be appreciated.

Had the same problem about a week ago-(seemed a huge pain ). What worked for me was leaving it in the hot sun for a few hours-(ya might try a hair dryer), pry it open with a screw driver. Once I got about six inches started the rest went on real slick. Hope this helps!

it also helps to put a bit of WD-40 on a rag on run it along the edges before putting it on.

Well I used a orange peeler to spread open the trim and it went on like a charm. It looks good I am glad I did not give up on it.
