| I bought this bike last month ,only have 270 miles on it. Went out tonight the temp was 50 degrees, and as I reached my destination (20 miles) the fan came on, and it started running rough. It is going back to the dealer, has this been a past problem with this bike? P/S No idiot warning lights came on.

| The engine is desined to operate at around 180 degrees. The therastat will open and allow coolant to circulate and when the temp still climbs higher the fan comes on for added cooling. If you stop in traffic a lot of I noticed in high humidity the fan runs more. The fan is suppose to come on any time the engine is not cooling enough with just the radiator. The fan running does not meen it is overheating. The light come on when the fan can not cool the tenp down to a safe level. It is the same way with a car equipped with an electric fan. Last year in Mytle Beach my fan ran more than not running, but then again I wa caught in traffic all the time, and humidity was high. The light will come on then the sensor picks up daner to the engine. At that time pull over and shut if off. I also when shutting off the motor when the fan is running, leave the key on for a little bit to help disipate the heat. The noice in the fan should simply sound like a fan. Odd noise could be a problem. You are best to get it checked.
