I wonder if anyone's had LeatherLyke brand hard saddlebags or knows anything about 'em. Here's their website: http://www.hoese.com/ Here's my situation: after fiteen years between bikes I now own the smallest bike I've ever had, a Suzy GZ250. I bought it for basic and economical transportation, and it's more than met my expectations -- I don't even have to think about it, and I get 60mpg. If I baby it I can get 70mpg. Since we're facing the near-certainty of increasing gasoline prices from here on I feel I made a good choice. Plus, the little tiddler is a blast, a true giggle-bike. Thing is, I need cargo capacity, and there's scant few aftermarket accessories for this puppy. The Suzuki rack and sissybar are much too costly for much too little cargo space, so I added some RiverRoad compact slant saddlebags, mounted under the pillion. They work well enough, and they look good to my eyes. But they're made of leatherette, and they can't be locked. When I found the LeatherLyke website I thought I'd hit paydirt. Their bags are made of ABS; they're lockable; and they're made in specific fitment. All desirable features, but before I shell out the bucks for a set I hope to learn if anyone else has had good luck with 'em. If I do buy 'em I'll have to sell the RiverRoad bags -- somebody'll get a bargain since the bags are still in very good condition. Thanks in advance for any info that anyone can share. Be well, keep your rubber side down, and your knees in the breeze. |
