I just got back from a 130 mile cruise this evening. I was pushing it pretty hard (hit 100 a few times, averaged 85-90). I filled the tank and reset a trip counter. The reserve light usually comes on at 120 (if I'm runnin' the streets) and 130 on the hiway. Today it came on at 102, then it stopped flashing at 120. I'm obviously not getting the 50 miles/gallon that I usually get, why? Is it because I was running at higher than usual rpm? It shouldn't be that drastic, or is it? I was riding thru a good amount of wind for the first 40-50 miles. Had it at full throttle quite a bit. The bike was running so sweet though, after an hour of warmup, I was going from 80-90 in about a second. Should I take it in? |
