Shouldn't mention company names here I guess, but some online companies will charge you really high fees for returning items you purchased on the internet. Restocking fees and of course you have to pay return shipping. Often the shipping and handling are fairly high in the first place so you have to absorb that if you return the item. This is all standard purchasing information I suppose but you really should consider the shipping, handling and possible restocking fees if you are to make a purchase online. I did not want to return the item, but it was fairly expensive and I thought I could recover most of my money.....got back about 2/3's of the money and the item was not very heavy so shipping should not have been as much as they charged me. I know these companies have to make a profit and I knew I would not get all my money back, I just thought 2/3's return seemed a little unfair. I will more often consider purchasing from a local dealer so that I don't have to pay for shipping and handling. But often it is difficult to find the specialty items that we buy for our bikes in local stores. I live in an area of about 200,000 people and it is hard to find certain items for a Suzuki S50 at a reasonable price. So shop around before you buy and read the small print. I have also learned to sleep on it before clicking on the order button. I often find I can live without that piece of chrome for another month or two, or a day or two......... |
