| Best route if you want scenic ride would be I-10 to Hwy 12 the sign will also towards Greensboro you will follow that til Hwy 20 going West. You will come to Hwy 231 take a left to Panama City or if you are staying on the beach side you can take Hwy. 20 all the way to Hwy. 79 take a Left on 98 that will bring you to the beach. I am sure you have a map check it out. Have a safe trip. Road Momma Last edited by Road Momma; 06-14-2005 at 07:15 AM. |

Take highway 84 west to Donalsonville, then take highway 91 to Florida. At the state line there is a park where the river is at (picnic place),, that road becomes highway 2. Highway 2 runs right into 231, which you take south right into Panama City Florida. I have taken that route plenty of times in the past in my truck whe I was a traveling man. Make sure you fill up in those towns,, figure your mileage. There are alot of small towns and the towns in Florida are neat little towns.

| Fender Buffer ![]() | Aloha Road Momma! Just wanted to let you know that I'm STILL not sure what we're doing this weekend, ack. I just found out last night that I already had plans tonight. My girlfriend got me a ticket to go see Pat Benatar tonight, but she also plans for us to hit the clubs tonight. Her hubby's in Iraq and my hubby will be babysitting her kids so I cannot begrudge her a night out for just her. No idea what I'll be feeling like in the morning. I'll post more later...Aloha!

| Hi Keheu, Guess you can't disappoint your girl friend, hope you two had a great time at the concert. I was sorry to hear you were not coming in town this wk. end. We got out on the road yesterday awesome afternoon. The temps were perfect for a ride believe it your not there was a cool breeze while riding. We rode to Mexico Bch. beautiful area tons of people at the beach. We are going to ride to Seaside area then over to 331 bar for lunch then make a stop at the Outpost we should get in about 140 miles or so today. Next wk. end we are planning on riding to Pensicola. We need to get time on the saddle we are planning on riding the bikes to your area (Atlanta) over 4th. wk. end. I have never ridden in the mountain so hope to make it to the Helen area. We have some great friends that live in Cumming he rides a Gold Wing. We will probably be staying in the Vinings area with my girl friend. This will be our first road trip have no idea how I am going to pack. My bags aren't that large so going to have to pack smart, which will be hard for Road Momma Please let me know the next time you come to town. I will try and post a pic of my S50. Road Momma |

| Fender Buffer ![]() | Ooohh, I'm so jealous!!!! To be honest, I was kind of upset about this weekend but I've adjusted. For some reason, friends thought that my kids going to spend time with the grandparents meant I would be more available to party. Hubby and I really just want to spend some time together before he leaves for Iraq. But we went to the concert and I had a great time, was really feeling my age, especially when I found out Martika was the opening act. We then went to a local club and I had a blast. I was the DD so I didn't drink but I'm the kind of girl who doesn't need to drink to get out on the dancefloor or have conversations with total strangers...drunk or sober, ha ha ha. I didn't wake up until 1pm yesterday though so it was too late to treck out on a multi-ride on the bike. So hubby and I just ventured around locally. It was cool though, yesterday was my first ride on the interstate and I've come to realize that even though I love my S50, I was really wishing it weighed more when it comes to interstate riding. No riding for me today though, partied hard till about 4 this morning, just woke up and am hoping my head stops spinning before it's time for me to put steaks on the grill for dinner tonight. Hangover, charcoal, and fire can't be a good mix. But I did my time with friends this past week and weekend, next weekend definitely belongs to hubby and me!!

Going up futher north of Helen makes for some really good riding. If you are up to it let me know,, maybe we could meet up and ride together,, we are leaning on going up that way probably the afternoon of the 2nd,,stay overnight somewhere and ride around on the 3rd working our way back towards Atalanta.

| Wow!!! stp1971 Sounds like a great ride. We would love to join you group. I will have to get back to you to let you know if we are coming for sure. At this time we are planning on riding up on Fri. We have never done a road trip like this before so have to decide if we could do all those miles on the bike. Riding from Panama City to Atlanta took our friends 8 hrs. they were on a Gold Wing. Where are you planning on staying that night in the Helen area? I will talk it over with Carlos, my husband and let you know. Where will your group being starting from? Road Momma |

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | It right now is in the preliminary stages,, so far it is just my friend and I. There are several motels around Helen,, we are tossing around either staying in Helen, Cleveland, Dahlonega, or going further up towards Hiawasee(sp). There are alot of different spots around there. I have not made any reservations and we were just going to play it by ear as to where we wanted to stay. 4th of July in Helen it is usually packed up there,, alot of people go up there for the weekend. Lots of traffic in the downtown area. So we would either stop in Helen or bypass it,, not positive at this point. I am supposed to run over the plans with him sometime this week. If you guys are definately coming up this way then we can get phone numbers and meet up. Let me know and once I talk to him I'll make more definate plans. I am also trying out a riding group in this area that might have a big ride that wekend as well,,not sure about it yet.
