I have a question about the petc**k on my bike. In case the filter blocked out the word, I'm referring to the on/off/res switch. My manual says to set the switch to OFF if it will be several hours or more before the bike will be started. What exactly happens when the switch is set to off? I've noticed that if my bike has been parked overnight with the switch in OFF position and the next day I set the switch to ON and try to start it, it won't start. Normally I have to wait about 5 minutes before it will start up. However, yesterday when I went back to work after lunch, I forgot to set the switch to OFF. When I tried to start it later that night (6 hours later) it cranked right up like I just got off it. I guess my question is, if the fuel switch has been OFF for a while, do you have to wait a bit for the fuel to begin flowing through the carbs once it's set to ON? I want to make sure I'm understanding the mechanics of how it works.
