Default What should new riders look for in traffic?

I've been riding two months and feel relatively confident. I've had only one scary situation, a woman almost pulled out in front of me from a sidestreet (she had a stop sign, I did not). Other than that, the only problem I've had is that people like to ride right up to my rear wheel when I'm stopped at red lights - between 6" and 1' from my rear wheel!!! Very annoying.

Things are going well, but I know that I have a lot to learn. Is there any advice someone can give me? Is there any situation that I need to avoid? Maybe I need to flash my headlight (high/low) if it looks like someone could pull out in front of me? Anything like that?
