Default I picked up the new C50 and made it home!!

Howdy everybody just got back from picking up the new C50 from Mt Gambier South Australia and rode it back home to streaky bay ,a trip of 1300kms basically going from one side of the state to the other. It certainally was testing ride for a noobie as this was my first road bike and the weather was fairly unkind most days reaching high 30s to low 40s.I drove to adelaide in SA on thursday and then flew to Mt Gambier on friday arriving into a nice 37c,as you could imagine still keen to get on the new purchase i went for a nice cruise of about 150kms and ended up in millicent at a friends house leaving about 400kms to complete the next day. I left about 1pm on sat hoping for a little temp relief but alas it didn't come so i headed off heeding all the advice given about dehydration and followed the coastal route via the coorong back into adelaide . Due to the heat i made regular stops but i found it still a very enjoyable experiance and as my confidence grew so did my ability to corner, overtake trucks etc which just made it all the better.Sunday had a rest day in adelaide and it was another scorcher so it i took shelter watching the cricket and heeding more valuable advice about dehydration but this time with the amber fluid which always seems to taste better.Monday still hot mid to upper thirtys but unforunatly the direction i was heading would take me over the 40 mark but anyway i pushed on slowly but surely taking as much time as i needed to cover the 320 kms to pt augusta . I did take a long time to cover this distance but that was due to me dropping into the clare vally wine region to visit family before riding out through the jamestown-orroroo regions before getting to pt augusta. The last hundred kms the heat was quite exhausting and i stopped twice to rest and rehydrate and i was glad to get to PA as the rumour for the next day was a cool change on the cards. Tuesday certainally was the best riding day and as i was into the final 400 kms of the journey and it definatally cooler i was quite happy for a nice cruise home.I hit a little bit of rain and thunderstorm as i rode into the change but it was only minor and i took approx 5 hours to complete my ride into streaky. It summing up i will say the C50 rode well i put it through all the speed ranges right up to the 150kph and it handled it well ,i dont think i could of bought better.

PS many thanks to all who helped with little bits of advice i used pretty much all of what was suggested and i wish safe riding for all.
