Nighster. I loved that bike. Put nearly 900 miles on it and sold it last week. Deliver it in the morning. Awful to ride. Shakes like a demon. Nothing you can do about that. Nothing. Put 500$ progressives on it and it still kick you in the butt. Nothing you can do and keep the look the Nightster was made for. Power, pull, good rumble, yes but not a rider. A look at me bike. A good bar hopper if you don't mind getting there with your guts in a knot. Oh well, going back to the M50. |

Wanting to try something different for a while....the busa has been a fun bike with no mechanical issues after 4 years & 30K miles. Compared the the other sport bikes I've had in the past, it's been my favorite by far.

If you like the blacked out look, what about a V-star 1100 Custom in the Raven/Midnight color scheme? They're pretty decently priced, I got a hell of a steal on mine since it was a new leftover 2008. 2009's, depending on where you look, can be had for anywhere from $7000-9000, and they have blacked out wheels which I wish mine had. Also it's a bigger bike than the sportster, so it should fit you pretty well. Has a nice balance too, and doesn't seem to vibrate too bad from what I've noticed so far.

Cast easy to clean awsome looking wheels, liquid cooled, shaft drive, fuel injected and looking cooler than any other cruiser, what am I talking about? The Suzuki Boulevard M50. Get it while you can before Suzuki destroys it next year in 2010. |

I have a 97 Sportster XL1200 Sport and the bike is narrow. Plenty of get up and go considering the weight to power ration. I'm 5'8", 235lbs and my wife says I look too big on the bike because I'm so wide (fat) and the bike is so narrow. I just purchased a Suzuki M50 (softtail style) and it's less power, but a more aggressive look and wider stance. Low center of gravity so for a cruiser, it is very tossable and a joy to ride in the straights and twisties...good luck. |

Screw the Sportsters! Those little bitty pieces of crap... If you want something that looks like that, get an S83. At least then you want feel like you just got off a paintshaker on wheels everytime you go somewhere.

you would probably like the harley night train, its all blacked out more so than the nightster, not sure how much you can get one used for my exp with the sportsters is that the seat is as hard as a rock, horrible seat, i am 5 foot 6 and i thought the control's could have been a little farther forward but would not be bad for a guy my size. i never noticed any major shaking on the one i rode but i found my volusia and im glad i got it but i still think that sportster iron 883 in flat black is the most killer looking bike out there. but my volusia reminds me of a indian witch is cool. i always get asked all the time if its a Harley and have had about 5 or 6 people ask me if it was a Indian. |

I'm 6' and 300#, every time I've ridden my friends sportser I felt like I was on a toy. My M50 fits me damn near perfect, and better cruising range then that tiny tank HD puts on the sportser.

m50's are okay, but that model would be a baseline. there are many, many other bikes out there to be considered.

My brother has the 883 and while it is fun to ride it is to small for my 6'1" frame and 34" inseam. Even my M50 is a little to small for my legs but hoping the forwards I'm ordering soon will fix that. There are alot of metrics out there that will fit you better and still be in your price range. I recently rode a vulcan 900 and was really impressed with it as well.
