My Suzuki M50 is in need of a new rear tire, and I have been doing a lot of searching and reading on the subject. Besides here at MJ and other forums, I found This Tire Review Site. In general, it seems that the Metzeler ME-880 is hit and miss as far as good or bad reviews, and not only because of the crackin in the white wall version of the tire. They seem to be hit and miss on general ware and tread life, as well. Even the Donlop 404's seem to get spotty reviews. All this means that I am not as comfortable about these two tires as I was prior to my research. The Perelli MT66 and AVON Venom seem to be the most generaly liked, and posatively reviewed tires that I have found, but they have vastly different tread patterns. The Venom is a very cool looking tire, but it seems to have large sections of the tire with no tread at all, while the MT66 has a lot of tread over the entire surface of the tire. I am leaning heavily toward the Pirelli MT66 - 180/70-H15 for my new rear tire (Stock size is 170/80-h15). Can anyone give me any reason not to buy this tire? |
