Ok so I did it.... First I tried to go to the dark side and tried to buy an incredibly low miles '04 Heritage softail from a local dealer advertised at a great price... but I was a day late and it was sold....  . Then I went out dealer hopping to 2 local Harley dealers and was extremely dissapointed by what I saw and the prices.. So I went to a large dealer in all the metrics and fell in love with a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic. The seat is absolutely beyond doubt the best most comfortable seat I have sat upon next to the big full touring harleys. Funny but a bigger Kawi right next to it did not have such a great seat. Anyway, they let me test ride it without too much hassle....(asked me to buy it first and have a "10 minute or 10 mile" return privilege...which I just laughed at and started to walk out). They decided to let me ride it after all....LOL. Loved the smooth shifting (my C50 was clunky compared to this) and the exhaust note is deep and rumbly with stock mufflers....sounds fine...  The price was right for me...$10,600 on the ticket but $8900 out the door seemed pretty good to me and fit my budget well. HOOOBOY now I get to accessorize all over again ! ... it definitely needs forward controls of some kind..... when the weather improves I will post more pics....but this is the bike... |
