Default C50 Bouleverd Buffetting

I installed the suzuki windsheild on my C50 and have been trying figure out which lowers would work with it. I have asked my local parts dealer for help but suzuki does not make lowers or wind deflectors for the C50 windsheild.

The buffetting is rough on long rides.

Memphis Shades makes lowers that might fit, but I haven't personally checked into it. I have the OEM windshield on my C50 and I haven't been that bothered by the buffeting, but I have mine set a bit on the low side.

What buffetting are you experiencing? If you are getting helmet buffetting, try changing the windshield height. I use the OEM windshield on my C50 and long trips are nice, especially the backroads.

Don't know about the C50, but the OEM shield for my VZ800 was only 15 inches tall. If I'd thought more about it when I was buying the bike, I wouldn't have bought that shield. I'm 6'6", and the wind buffeting my helmet was so bad I took the shield off.

I also have the buffetting problem. I installed a memphis fats. I originally thought I got a windshield too short and was about to get a taller one. I installed a 17",, & I am 5'11" tall. After trying all height and angle adjustments, nothing helped. I then realized that the buffetting was coming from the bottom, not the top of the windshield. Try riding and holding a hand (left or right) just below your knees,, along your legs. You may find that the air causing the buffetting is coming from down below,, not over the windshield. I am going to install the lowers first. I think this will cure the problem. If not,, then I will look into a taller shield. I would hate to wast the money on a taller shield and still have the problem... The lowers would be a good investment anyway... Let me know what you find out on your buffetting problem.

I have an oem windshield also. The only time I have gotten buffeting is when I have my full face helmet open. I am 6' tall. I did have problems with air hitting the underside of the helmet. This was causing a lot of noise. I did two things to deal with this. First I added a chin guard for blocking air. This came with my hement. Second I called Oneda Suzuki and ordered the Memphis Shades lowers for the C50. This helped also. Prior to this I had air coming up around the gas tank and hitting him in the middle of the chest. It would then go up under my helmet.

I ended up getting the whole front end set together; Switchback Quick Release 2-Up Windshield, lightbar and lowers from National Cycle. When riding around town I routinely take my windshield off and drive with only the lowers on. It gives the bike a great look with that bit of extra chrome up front. I would contact National cycle and see if their lowers will hook up into the OEM windshield bracket you currently have. If not, the quick release windshield is one cool accessory combined with the lowers.

I installed the Memphis Shades lowers on my 03 Vol. Made a huge difference in the buffeting. Just got an 04 Vol due to storm damage on my 03 and intend to get the same lowers again.
