Default stupid cagers trying to beat me off the line.

Why oh why do these cagers think they can beat me off of the line at a stoplight? there is a spot where on my way home, where almost everyday somebody tries to beat me at the light. the left lane must merge into the right. Now there is plenty of room to do this, like a quarter mile or so, so there is no reason to cut anybody off. Mostly i'm in the right lane, and i can see the guy next to me inching forward at a red light and looking at it just waiting for it to turn green. Well, it does and they hit the gas. And then zoom I'm gone and what was that all about? You're not going to beat my c50 off the line with a focus!

Come on, make his day!!!

All day the Guy will be jumping up and down, "I beat him".

As it is he goes to work and denies some poor sap his loan.
All because of you!!!

I have been thinking of buying a lime green squirt gun and filling it with skunk stink to use on cagers that irritate me. God forbid that Vinnie should get irritated.

But it IS fun to blip the throttle and jerk the clutch a bit.........and then laugh as they smoke it off the line while you take it easy !!

That is especially fun when you ride a bike that wouldn't beat a turtle off the line anyway!

I hate to critisize another riders style but.......if repeated often enough, this just HAS to have a bad outcome eventually.........don't you think ??

When I see em twitchin at the light I just let em go in front, I'd rather them not be behind me.

The problem i have with letting them get in front of me is this... They are chomping at the bit at the light to get in front of you, and then, they go 45 in a 55 and drive like an old woman. So i usually end up passing them any way.

I hardly ever get cars that want to race me, but for some reason I get a lot of cruiser and touring riders that want to race when I'm riding the Bandit, I'm not sure why that is, it doesn't happen to often when I'm on one of my other bikes, just the Bandit, maybe they see the side bags & trunk, and think Ah-ha, finally a sport bike (kind of) that I can beat. The last guy was a co-worker on his new Gold Wing.

the odd fool that thinks his car is faster than the old xs generally gets dispensed with, post haste no less.

In other words, I like to spank the "racers" like a red headed stepchild.

Every once in awhile, one wins.

They are probably not trying to outrun you but the other cagers behind you. Most motorcycles casually accelerating will still beat most cars trying like hell. Most people know that.

I don't see how really. As long as it is two lanes going forward, then I don't see the additional harm. Its not like I let them get a car length or two ahead, I just let them get a little ahead (always mindful of blind spots) until I hit about 20 mph, then I drop it in second and go. I just give them a quick false sense of getting ahead, I don't let them enjoy it. Honestly though this has only happened a few times to me. Most of the lanes in my town will join shortly after the light. In this case if they really want the spot then I let them have it and I hang back and wait for the impending accident they will cause down the road. I've seen people nabbed by the cops for doing this. They shoot off the line to get to where the lanes join and end up doing 55 in a 35 and then the cop is waiting. I always have a good laugh when that happens.

Funny on the M95 I used to always accelerate quick enough from the light to remove any doubt that they could merge ahead of me. On the KLR that would just result in a wheelie, then I'd look like a Squid.

REALLY ?? You don't see how drag racing a cage off the line at a light might have a bad outcome ?? Forgetting for a minute the safety aspects of things like a slick spot on the road, one of these days the cop could be watching when you are the "winner" and then guess who gets the ticket ??
