| I Recently Bought A 2008 Yamaha Vstar Custom 1100, With Kuryakin Hypercharger And Cobra Pipes. I Love The Bike. Although Sometimes It Seems To Stall At Low Speed. (not Completely Just Lurches) And Also Back Fires Alot On Deceleration. But Not All The Time. My Question Is, Is This Normal?

| When I was learning I had the same problem on the 02 Shadow 750, but as I improved my skills on the throttle the problem went away. Have you looked at the plugs to see if they have unusual wear on it.

| Hello everyone! I just bought my first bike yesterday which is a Yamaha Vstar Classic. I'm interested in buying some saddle bags but I need some input from anyone of you. Is it a requirement to buy the SaddleBag frame in order for me to install an aftermarket saddlebag? Or can I just buy the saddlebag and install it by itself? Any advice will be highly appreciated!!! |

| I'm pretty sure you need to buy the mounting brackets which keeps the bags away from the tires. I bought an 1100 vstar classic brand new I think 2003, or 2004 I put a little over 28,000 on it and decided to trade it in. Anyway I think it was a great bike just a little pricey maintenance wise. Now I have the Suzuki M50 it's only 800cc but really has all the power I need. I just took it on a 342 mile ride today and was really happy with the performance. Plus I got a great deal that includes an awesome service agreement. Good luck with your vstar I really do miss that bike! |

| Hi MCMARK. Backfiring with our v-star 1100s is caused by the AIS system, (emission control). If you google International Star Riders Association, (ISRA), there are a lot of threads about this. An article in their newsletter, Star Cruiser Feb 2002,Vol.4, No.1, covers both permenent removal and a five minute fix. I did the five minute fix during lunch 2 months ago and it solved the whole problem. I've been riding about 40 years, the last 4 on my 2002 1100. It's a great bike. Ride well and God Bless. Rick

| I just received my jacket and saddlebags from leatherup. They were both excellent and great buy. However it didn't include instructions on how to install the saddlebags. I see two strings on each corner (i think i'm supposed to tie these somewhere?) and the bags come off with a zipper. ![]() Any info on how to install the bags will be appreciated!!!1 |

| Just put bags from Fox Creek Leathers on my 2007 1100 Classic. Nice leather and mounting was easy with the Easy Brackets which eliminates the need for the Yamaha stand-off brackets. It's good to be able to quickly unlock the bags and carry them inside when needed. Try their website and give them a call if you have questions; they're great folks to work with. Safe ridin' |

| Throttle Jockey ![]() | For a leather jacket, I found I was better off on finding someone selling stuff that was made in USA. The stuff from the middle east does not last and is usually very poor workmanship. The leather is tanned differently and does not seem to hold up. This is why their prices are so low. You should expect to pay at least $200 for a good leather riding jacket which was properly fitted for you. I've had mine for several years now & all I do is wipe it with a conditioner once a year & it's done. |
