| clockdaddy - The LC1500/C90 forum guys say that usually, at 12k, the head bearings are going bad, and they should either be replaced or adjusted. My C90T (Intruder in disguise) has 18,500 miles on it, and I've noticed they're a little loose. If anyone tells you that cruisers all have a wobble, that's crazy. The only time mine has wobbled is when my front tire is low. If you've tried adjusting pressure, then I would recommend that as others have told you, change dealers, and when you find a good one, have him change the head bearings. Other than low tire pressure, that's usually the problem.

The way I understand it is the bearings wear and there is no way to tighten them. Only thing is to replace them with a tapered bearing that you can torque. I am seeing the same problem starting on my 05 c90. Here is a web site that make the replacements needed. You might find a cycle shop in your area that carries them.Vendor is called All Balls and I've heard good things about their products. Hope this helps. All Balls Products |
