|  01 Roadstar whining from the drive line question I just noticed the loud whinning noise coming from the drive line of my 01 roadstar tonight when we went for a ride...... it sounds like the open drive type choppers do. It does it when the clutch is in and reved up or when the drive is under a load it doesn't seem to matter it increases in sound with the RPM's of the engine. I just bought the bike last week and haven't seemed to notice this until tonight. I did tighten the tension on the shock underneath and made it firm and the bike was lowered by the previous owner sometime ago if that has anything to do with it maybe. I did a search and can't seem to find any info on this. I also am wondering if the motor on this bike should sound like a Harley as far as noises go it seems to be a lot louder then my Kawasaki's and suzuki was as far as engine rattles and ticks go sounds like my 06 HD did sort of. This is my first Yamaha V twin so I am not up on what the quirks of this bike might be and appreciate all the info y'all can provide me with. Thanks for the Help! Dennis |
