| hello- i haven't ridden a bike since i sold my yamaha rd400 30 years ago, but now since i live in texas where the sun shines much of the time, i've started to think about getting back in the saddle again. i've been doing some research and i think i've narrowed my choice of wheels down to one of the suzuki 50 series cruisers. i like the shaft drive, cast wheels, and fuel injection, along with the reliability and styling. i stopped at my local dealer today to look at the bike and they only had 1 new and 1 used one in stock. i hinted about a deal on the new one and the guy didn't seem interested in talking about it, and when i asked about the used one- a 2007- he said they wanted $7000 for it. so my question is: is everyone paying retail now since it's bike weather or is it possible to get a discount on a new bike? thanks! tim |

| Refrigerator Magnet Test Engineer ![]() | Check around. On here and cycletrader. Probably get a better deal than that for a used one.

| I bought a 2008 C50 last week. I was also considering a Vstar 650 Classic and a Honda Shadow VT750. A contributing factor to buying the C50 was that the dealer I bought it from was the only one who would come off MSRP, and not by much. If you want used, you'll probably get a much better deal if you make a private sell instead of buying from a dealer.

| Ditch Magnet ![]() | I got my used '06 M50 last summer bfor $5500ish. it had 450 miles, saddlemen slant bags, the wire rack, and factory windshield. Bought it from a reputable local dealer. Haggle on the used one.

| You can do better by buying from someone selling than at a dealer, buying used bikes that is, shop aruond and don't be in a rush!
