| I installed the suzuki OEM windshield on my 06 Suzuki S50, I read a lot about that the wind shield should be chin high, and that what I did, any higher will be infront of my eyes. The problem is that the air turbulance above my helmet causes my head to vibrate and specially at a 50 mph and above, I am not sure how to adjust the windshield to prevent that, any advise? Thanks Smikail

| That's a fact of life with windshields that are chin high. If you have a windshield that is nose high or almost eye high then you won't get so much buffeting.

| From my experiance the best position for the windshield is just below your eyes and just above your nose. That allows the air to flow over top with out the vibration/buffeting of your head. I rode like that for around ten years with no problems, it even deflected a few rocks and debris. Hope this helps you out.

| I've read that it should be about the bridge of your nose. That's about where mine is and i have no buffetting. My wife on the other hand....

| IMHO, the larger windshields look very good on a stock C50 but not so great on a M50. I think the smaller windshields, like what you have, look better on the M50. However, I think the larger windshields look fine on a M50 when you have saddelbags and a sissy bar as well. The 3 tend to balance themselves out and look great together on a M. Bottom line though is that it's your bike and you make it look and ride however you want. If you can adjust your windshield so it is higher it might look a little funny with a gap above the headlight but it's an appearance vs. function issue. If in the end it turns out that a bigger windshield is a better fit for you, then maybe you can sell your current one and get a bigger one. Yes, you would be taking a little bit of a financial hit. But that happens sometimes. I'm not writing anything here that you don't already know.

This is the "conventional wisdom" for windshield placement......and I agree...after just installing one (on a different bike). In addition to mounting height, the angle can be important too. There should always be some "rake". A shield mounted straight up is almost never good.

| Are you sure that the turbulence is coming from above the windshield and not from below? While riding place your hand in between the windshield and the fuel tank. If you have air coming up there then this is probably the source or your turbulence. This problem can be solved with a set of lowers. When I put the factory windshield on my C50 I was experiencing a lot of turbulence and the windshield was positioned between my nose and chin. After adding a set of lowers the turbulence was gone and riding was fantastic.

There will be some air there. Don't see how it's possible not to have SOME. The trick is how much. It certainly could be the source of the problem.......but so could air coming over the top. Need to feel all around to locate the source.

| Just my $.02, it's probably from above. I had the greatest time watching my buddy and his wife ride 2up, because she figured out that if she put her helmet RIGHT BEHIND his, it would buffet him like crazy. Kinda mean, but funny as heck.
