| I waited just a bit to long after the Christmas holidays to get scheduled for my seat modification at MeanCityCycles, and ended up having to do it May 26th. I shipped it out last Monday, and it shipped out from MeanCity today (Tuesday) and I should have it back by Friday. We had beautiful weather over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, and it absolutely killed me not to be able to ride because of no seat. I did, however have the time to work on some items that needed tending to, that probably would not have gotten taken care of otherwise. 1) I had running lights running directly through the Aux connector in the headlight bucket, and had the time go ahead and install a, much needed, relay to protect the Ignition switch. 2) I was able to score a very nice used MC Enterprises Engine Guard for $50, and had the time to figure out a way to use it with my John's Kits Forward Controls. By the time my seat gets here on Friday, I will have the Engine Guard installed and will be ready to ride more safely than before. The point here is that, even though it has been killing me not to ride, the weather has been wet and rainy, except for the actual Memorial Day weekend, and I was afforded the time to do some very necessary things to my bike that I probably would not have done if I had been able to ride. There is always a positive side to these things, if you choose to see it.

| Cool. Can't wait to see pics when all done. I imagine you are climbing the walls. when there's been nice weather out. I started on the rear fender mod today (to whom I owe inspiration to Profane), because today is the first day of about 3 days of rain. Bike mods are like comedy- timing is everything! |

| Yes there will be pics, especially of the engine guard and adapters for installation with the JK Forwards. The JK front spacer bar has been shortened, so I can get the bottom and pegs all back together. The mounting plates are 1/4" thick, and set just inboard of the JK extension plates, so the spacer has to be shortened by 1/2" to fit between them. I am still waiting for the adapter plates for the top mounts.

| I now have my seat back after being without it for almost 2 weeks. I sure do hope that MeanCityCycles Double Decker Mod makes a difference in the comfort of this seat. I will get the seat installed tonight, but I will not be able to ride until I get the pesky engine guard installed. I would like to paint the top mount extensions so that they disappear but I may just put it together and go ride.

Anyway, I took it off and am painting the extensions black, so that the guard should almost look like it was meant to be installed the way that it is. I am not concerned about rust, at all, because they are made out of 301 Stainless Steel.

I already have pics of the bottom portion of the assembly, and am waiting for the paint to dry on the top bar extensions, second coat, so that I can photograph those. Once it is all together, I will post pics of the installed guard. The writeup, pics, and suggestions will be forthcoming.
