Default General Consensus of Forward Controls?

I'm new to the world of modding, and I don't really know anyone that has done much for mods. Because of this, I'm just now learning about forward controls.

I'm wondering what the general consensus is about these kits. Are they really as good as they seem? Will I be comfortable (5'11...average height)? Are they practical, or is it like when kids lay down while driving their car?

Hmm...I'm very interested. It would be nice to get my legs out in front more...hmmmm

<--that's just because I find it rather comical!!

With the stock foot peg setup, you ride. With the forward controls, you cruise.

You ever see that guy out on his his cruiser and you say to yourself, "Man, that guy looks cool"? That's cause he's plantin' his feet on some forward controls.

Now, how to tell your wife. When she's got her back turned to you and she's doing the dishes, vacuuming, ironing or doing other menial housework, walk up behind her, put your hands on her hips in a slightly provocative manner, bring your lips right up close to her ear and whisper, in your best Berry White voice, "Baby, for $135, I can get 3 1/2 more inches." When she turns around with a huge smile and starts to ask how, just press a finger to her lips and say, "Don't worry, baby, I'll take care of it all. If it's alright with you then just nod."

She'll nod.

Then smile and walk away.

And hide the bill.

I have the Jardin Forward Controls and I love them. I did switch back to the stock and found I like the forwards better, swapped right back.

I recently got my first set of forward controls and I do love them.

But... There are times when on the longer rides I wished I had some pegs where the originals used to be just to change my leg position. That's a luxury you have with stock pegs and highway pegs for the cruising.

Even still, I won't own another cruiser without em if I can get my hands on em. Nobody stocks em for my old bike, had to group up with 9 others to get some manufactured this go round.

I am 5'10", and the forward controls are one of the best mods to make.

If you need more room for your feet, try adding a set of aftermarket pegs. I added a set of Kuryakyn Widow Pegs, and it gives me more room to move my feet around. After putting these on, the stock pegs seem like toothpicks.

Johnskit FC's and Karyakyn Zombie pegs...i could still use a little more leg room, but can't think how i've ridden so long without 'em
