Default What did you do today?

What a great day for a ride! Mid-80s sunshine invited, and no set plans. I missed hooking up with my buddies who stopped in at 7:30 AM After a leisurely start at about 10:30 I headed out and gassed up. Kind of a bummer to pay #4.91/gallon, but better than waiting in line at the Costco to save a dime.

Heading out south on a two lane country twisty, I enjoyed the still green Sierra foothills and fresh greenery on the oaks, and blipped the throttle to move the cattle off the fenceline once. Locally we have a lot of wineries along the country roads, and I had a few bottles to pick up where we have a subscription. So this morning was spent visting a couple wineries, a few tastes of the 2006 vintage, and even visting some friends along the way to shoot the breeze and complain a bit about the economy.

Heading home through the Mother Lode, I figured what the hell, I'll stop at this Roadhouse in El Dorado with a few bikes out front. Turns out to be the clubhouse of the local Boozefighters, a 3-patch outlaw aka "Wild Ones". Nice outfit and we shared a few beers. I noticed the bartender was a cute girl, the same age as my younger daughter. Nice kid. Glad mine doesn't work in this dive.

Another 30 miles of twisties and I called it a day after about 100 miles.

Hey, Hope you got out and enjoyed yourself. What did you do?

Time for a beer and some ribs.

Did not use a drop of gas. We had 3" of snow on the ground this morning so that=no riding. I did install a new FI controller and K&N air filter, Bully Stage 3. I really want to test it out, maybe tomorrow.

Yesterday when you posted this I was into my 2nd hour of polishing my spare wheel.

I spent literally a week and a half getting the rear wheel polished the first time, and yesterday with 3 hours in, (mostly sanding) I was almost done. I did it with a special type of grinder wheel this time and it's really starting to glow.

Now I've gotta remember what that product is that you seal polished metal with so I don't have to do this again...

I'll have the new avons on by next weekend so hopefully I'll be riding instead next saturday.

Just wanted to point out, the Boozefighters aren't an outlaw M/C like the Hells Angels. They are, however, the original Wild Ones--the movie was based on sensationalized stories of them. They're generally a bunch of good guys, they're more about drinking and having a good time than they are about causing any trouble. Their national HQ is here in Ft. Worth so I see a lot of them around.

Yeah, seemed like more of a bunch of guys who like to drink and have a motorcycle problem.
