| I have a chance to purchase a 2002 Suzuki Intruder from a friend of mine, I believe it's the VE series, (Saddlebags & Screen came with it). Has about 10,000km, near mint shape, well maintained. My questions are is this a good bike, does it have any vices, and what would be a reasonable price for it be? I understand it has a smaller gas tank which limits rides to under 200KM per tank. Thanks in advance for your comments.

| I have lots of friends on another forum who have them, and they're excellent bikes! I bought an '07 Boulevard, which is same bike but fuel injected, and I love it. If it's well maintained, I doubt that you can go wrong getting it. But, I have no idea what the prices are.

I have a 99 and I love it. Me and the misses that's what we use when we go out 2 up. It's not top heavy and very smooth doing 65MPH about 110 KPH at 2500 RPM. I only get 100 miles per tank full. I carry a lot of weight and my windsheild is 28 inch wide. 4 inches wider than OEM. But the bad about it is it eats front brakes. But I change my own so twice a year I just replace them, $30 and 15 min. But for a first bike i think it might be a little to big. But if you got it for a good price. Put itaway for a couple of months and buy something small for a while.

| For more fuel go to G-man. It will bump it up to 6.2 gal.

I thought of that but for the money. Huh. I like to stop after 2 hours of riding.

| Good bike, strong and reliable . Can't go wrong except for the possibility that it may be a tad large for a first time rider, but if you feel confident enough then go for it. Best if you take the course first and if possible get a bit of practice in on a smaller bike. Good luck

| Yeah, I hear you but when I am riding alone I don't like to stop except for fuel. When riding with friends stops are more frequent. As far as $$, is there anything inexpensive for bikes?

| I still have that bad habit of smoking and I can't wait to stop. Yesterday was the first day I went out with it. I wanted to try the new Mustang seat. Well I have some mixed feeling. It keeps you in one place. I haven't gone on long trip so I'll see. It's a major jobe to install that tank.

| I didn't think it was a major job at all. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. It did take about 1.5 hrs to install the tank itself. I had to stop the electrical install because I had no wire harness for the timer. Hopefully they will send me a new one ASAP. I checked my work area thoroughly but it just was not there.

| Yes, I do. Last summer the wife and I drove to Kentucky. Our first stop was after 7 hours straight driving and 460 miles. She did not need to go, I did not need to go and we had plenty of goodies. I did need a stretch after that long however. Last summer on long rides I simply kept going until gas was very low, about 130 miles. I know I can easily make it 200+ without a stop. Smelling the roses is nice unless I am in a hurry. Around here there is not too much to see anyway. Ohhh look, a tree. Look, another tree. Oh wow, another tree. N.D. Look flat land. Ohh look, more flat land, etc.... Same for S.D. Iowa is solid corn fields, not much exciting there.

I don't enjoy riding long distances with out stopping. My wife loves the ocean so we plan our trip with ocean view most of the time. Last year we went to Canada which was 600 miles. We stopped over night in New Hamphire and next day took our time on the next 300 miles. This year i'm planning 2 longer trips . One to Lake George for the 4th of July. A 6 hour ride which we'll stop4 time to sight see and eat. And in August we're planning to Nova Socita for 7 to9 days. With a lot of stops. And the high speed ferry being one of them for 5.5 hours
