| Well, I wouldn't like them for a daily driver (or is that rider??). Seriously, though, I am glad that I went for something that seemed a little too big at first because a Rebel (or other 250cc size bike) would have felt too small for me after I took the MSF class - and I am not a big dude. I really think you will be completely uncomfortable on a "starter bike". I also own a Suzuki LS650, which doesn't weigh much more than the Rebel (and is similar in size). I can't imagine someone of your stature riding that bike for long. A small bike is always a blast to ride and stupid easy to handle in traffic, but I wouldn't want to ride the LS650 for more than about 30 miles at a time. Even my wife (who is tiny) gets tired on the LS650 after about 75 mile stretches. No matter what you choose, you will not enjoy it much if your knees are constantly banging into the fat part of the tank. |

| Thanks. I've been poking in and out every once and a while. I'm still surprised and a little dismayed at how many brand-newbies want to run down to the scoot shop and plunk down for a pristine new 800+ cc bike. I wonder how many of those get dropped in the first month when they're learning to thread slowly through a parking lot. Ah well, we can preach but we can't make them listen. |

| No, you can't make them listen. Tellem 1 - 2 years on a small bike, 1 - 2 years on a medium size bike, then go all out if you must. Lots of us don't see a need to go much over 750 - 900 cc range. and small bikes are stupid easy to drive, just going around town, best way to go.

| Seat Tester | Hey yall! Thanks so much for all the replies, and taking the time to give me your opinions. I REALLY appreciate it. As of right now, I have dropped my pursuit of the S50. I went and tried it, and as some of you mentioned, it really seemed too small for me. I wanted to stick with Suzuki, so I went and looked at the C50, and the M50. While the C50 is an absolutely gorgeous bike, it just seemed too heavy for me. The looks are very nice, but when I sat on it, and straightened it out to balance myself on it, it felt like I was pulling on an ox. The seat and handlebars are like something from a dream, but the weight really just made me feel overwhelmed. The M50 on the other hand felt a good bit lighter, and had a more comfortable feel to it for me over the C50. I am taking the MSF course this upcoming weekend and am really looking forward to it. I found an 06 M50 with 1325 miles for 4300. I am taking the class first though. I had a friend who was willing to let me ride his bike, but from reading this forum and other research, I dont want to even try to ride a bike before taking the class and getting some real training. I did go ahead and buy a tourmaster flex series 2 jacket, and a HTZ Yikes 3 helmet. I am pretty sure that is the name of it. I went with the tourmaster becuase it had the most relective pieces on it, and it is about 80% silver. I just wanted something that would help me stand out, but not be flashy. I am still looking for a nice pair of boots that offer protection and look nice, and a pair of gloves that offer protection without huge pieces of metal all over them. I read some posts that people say they use Army boots. I have several pairs of them from my weekend job, haha(national Guard) but I dont see how they could protect my ankles in a crash. Anyone have any more advice for me in those departments? And yes, I do realize that this is one hell of a long post. Haha. Thanks again to everyone who put in their 2 cents. I really appreciate it. | November... Consider protecting your knees as well... draggin jeans, strap on armor....something. Search here by "knee protection". So many of us protect almost every other joint...but expect levis to protect the knees.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload...IROriginal.jpg The air horn is also really good...I posted a write-up for the installation somewhere around here...I'm sure you'll find quite a few others as well, all are good and different mounting suggestions.

| Seat Tester | How do you like the hellcat windshield? I have been looking at getting one in the blue fade type thing. I found one for 160 and I think thats a good deal. It says its made to fit the Harley, but when I put in my bike, that is the model it gave me. Think its worth the money? MS
