Default Powder coating rims?

Looking for a couple answers about powder coating rims.
My rims are already painted gloss black from the factory can they be powder coated?
If so how should they be prepped before they are coated? What should I expect to pay in the Buffalo area for this service ? Anyone you can recommend ?
Thankyou Chris

Not an expert, but if you want to powder coat the rims, you need to blast all the paint that's currently on the rims.

Then they can get powder coated.

Not a cheap process to be done right if I recall.

Mate of mine had his GS750 rims done in the mid 90`s looked great just had one problem when it came to fitting the tires, Powder coat was all the way to the rim and it chipped while fitting the tire.

Prices vary wildly, so call around and ask. Make sure you specify that you have wheels to powder coat, and not rims, as if you say rims they will assume you have wire wheels and just want the outer rim coated for the bobber look. If you take the wheels off yourself and pop off the tires, you should be able to get the wheels powder coated for about $60- $100 each, plus whatever they charge you to bead blast off the existing paint (usually by the hour).
