Default Looking at replacing OEM Seat of VStar 1100

Hi There,

New owner of a VStar 1100 Classic and looking at changing the factory seat with a Corbin or Mustang and wondering if there is any height difference? I am 6' 2" and have already replaced the floorboards with billet chrome front end controls which I love and has given me more leg room. Now I am wondering if a new seat would add additional leg room

Has anyone put either of these seats on their bike and if did it had leg room or take it away?

Here's a pic of the bike.

Thanks,
John

I put a Saddlemen tattoo profiler on my M50, and with the Johns kit forward controls it suits my six foot frame perfectly..... not to mention it is way more comfortable than stock, and looks good too!

Thanks Townie, I installed Rizoma front end controls already and I love them - dfintely helped with the leg issue versus the floorboards. I'll look into the Mustang seat though I have read in otehr forums that these seats tend to move the rider closer to the tank??? I gues it depends on where your A?>?> is located

All I can tell you is do it. I don't know about ride height and comfort for your legs. But I can tell you that factory seat tore my back side up. The contoured seat on the vstar 100 was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever been on.
So I think either way you are going to love the change.
Especially on long rides.

Default Mustang seat for the V-Star 1100..........

I replaced the original seat with a Mustang seat and wish that I had done it sooner. John, I am also 6'2" tall and did notice that the Mustang seat moved me forward approximately one inch, but it really did not create any problems for me in the long term. Shortly after installing the Mustang seat, I noticed that I no longer had butt pain on long rides. Purchasing the Mustang seat proved to have been the right decision. I might add that the customer service folks are very helpful and professional. Please have a great day! Alamo Biker
