Default Hard Krome Anyone?

Theres no instructions on how to remove these baffles on these straight 3in.pipes. There are 2 set screws, one for billet end and one for baffle. I just dont want to reach in there with a pair of pliers and ruin something. Has anyone removed these baffles on theirs? And if so, do I need to remap pclll if I do? Thanks for info, youve all been very kind

Default Baffles

I have 3" hard kromes on my 900 custom vulcan. I love them. I have removed the baffles before and this is how:
-first remove both bolts
-then use one of them and start it in the tab on the actual baffle from the inside
-then use a rope or string and hook it on the bolt, obviously don't put the bolt all the way through so it is in the pipe, just enough so it won't come out if it is pulled on
-be careful cause when they break lose they break lose
-and you will have to put alot of butt into it!
-to put them back in is kinda tricky, i had to use a screwdriver to lift the baffle up to get it lined back up with the header pipe, you will understand when you do it,

I hope this helps, I have also attatched a pic of mine so you can see what pipes I have. Hopefully they are like yours or close.

The pliers will work. You really can't hurt the baffle. Yes putting them back is tough. You'll have to lift the back end onto the header pipe then slide forward.
The really tough part is getting the screw lined back up.
The baffles won't slide in as easy as you would hope. But it's not all that bad.

And don't remove them. Mine sounded like crap with the baffles out. But if you do it. Yes you will need to remap.
