I have a new 2007 Vulcan 500 with just over 115 miles on it. I was told I would get 50 to 55 miles to the gallon. Well I just ran out of gas, the reserve gas is a wonderful thing. Assuming the dealer realy did give me a full tank of gas, and tho I have been checking the gas level and being new at this it looked good, I thought I would have at least another 40 miles before I would need gas. The bike died on me at a stop and tho I tried starting it a few times I thought well maybe it was low, so I put it on reserve and it started fine. Does the milage improve as the bike gets broken in? And could a bike stall at a stop if it is just getting low? It stalled on me last I road it at a stop, (thought it was something I did) could the movement of gas in the tank cause it to stall? Thanks.
