Default C50T or C90T

I've decided to go with Suzuki as my first bike. I thougtht the C50T would be a better choice as a first bike but am having second thoughts after talking to other riders. Seeing that I'm 6'1" & 225lbs they think the C50 would be too small and that after a few months I will want to upgrade to the C90. What do you guys think? I really don't want to spend the extra money for the C90 but then again I don't want to buy the C50 and wish I had bought something bigger. I don't plan on riding anyone on the back but I sill want something that will get me around without struggling. What do you guys think?

I just traded a C50T for a C90T.I did it mainly because I got a great deal on the C90T. I am 6', 235, and I rode my C50T all over for 3 years. It did everything I wanted and I didn't really feel the need for more bike. If you wanna save the money, get the C50T, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Default C90 Design Flaw

The C50 is a better bike for cruising. The main reason I did not choose a C90 is the TINY gas tank. You get 2 times the size engine and 75% of the fuel capacity of a C50. This does not make sense for me.

What is the good of having a cruiser if it can't get out of it's own shadow? In the west here there are plenty of stretches between towns that are 180-200 miles. A C90 couldn't do it. I think this is a serious design flaw.

right on... I almost went for a C90 some time ago rather than my C50.. when I saw the gas tank size I said no thanks. Dumb.

The C50 works for me at 6'3".... it aint a barcalounger and the C90 can leave it in the dust....but it works. I had to get an airhawk cushion and a backrest before i could ride a full tank of gas ( 160 m or so) without killing my tail...but now I can. Go C50.

I have a c50 and cant complain at all. I'm only 5' 10" 210lbs but it moves out pretty good. Even with my wifes extra 130 on there. that's 340 lbs riding double. I have never been disappointed in my suzy at all. If you're looking to win a drag or whatever maybe she aint for you. but at 805 cc's she goes great, lots of torque, and you'll get better gas mileage on a c50 than a c90 too.

I agree as to tank size, they really should have put a 5gal+ tank on the 90 but it is not a 25% difference between the 90 and 50. It is 10%. The 50 has 4.1gal cap. as opposed to 3.7gal on the 90. There is a company that makes a tank for the 90 that fits in the exhaust collector box location after stock exhaust is removed. It is a bit expensive but then again what is cheap for any bike? I did not see such a tank for the 50. Does the 50 have a massive, stupid muffler like the 90?

I know my bike will only go 130 miles or so but doggoneit after that long I am ready for a break anyhow. I can't say I have ever been on a road without a stop at least every 100 miles. Call me a wimp but I like to find a place to look around, breath the air and relax for a bit.

I have a new C90T, and I'm disappointed with the amount of fuel, too. Since my wife refuses to ride with me, I'm going to remove the passenger seat and make a gas tank to mount there. Not sure how, but I get tired of stopping for fuel all the time. My last suzuki had a 6-gal tank, and I added another 6-gal tank on the back. I could run 600 miles before I had to stop, or, until my kidneys gave out.
