Default New at bikes and here

Hi,

I'm Alex from Mexico City, I just bought a 97 Suzuki Intruder VS 800 GL.
I bouught it here by internet Ultimate Motors in Fort Worth, TX Dealer Used Motorcycles - Home, a friend help me to bring it here and of course to test it. I'm learning how to ride at it and it stalls, not just with me but a friend who have years of riding, could this be an issue of carburating? I saw an sticker at the bike frame that says it doesn't need adjust at gas/air, but I do't know, i do not have confidence on the shops near my house.
I read about a sissi box?, where some people have find even the manual, where is this?

Sorry for so man q's on my first post, and since I learned english sorry if sometimes i'm not so clear.

Congrats for you forum it looks great!!

here is my bike

Your bike looks really cool. Sorry I can't help with the stalling problem , I am not very mechanically inclined. I could only suggest checking the spark plugs.

If you bought a bike that was sold in working condition, and when you ride it, it stalls, you should contact the place you bought it from.

Does it stall just when you are letting out the clutch, or does it do it after you are moving?

If it stalls when you are moving, it could be a week spring in the kick stand. If the bike is in gear, and the kickstand is lowered (even just a little bit) there is a switch that kills the motor.

Thanks everybody!

It stalls when it is parked, just last night i was wondering what was this wiring on the kickstand.
I'll give it a try, cause I think it has stalled at parking with and without the kickstand.
My problem isthat the place where I bought it is in San Antonio Texas, and I'm in Mexico City.

- You can still call them and see what they have to say.

- You may have to take off the seat in order to access your battery, see your owner's manual for instructions regarding the battery. From what I have read, you never want to turn the car on if you're connecting a car battery to your motorcycle's battery.

I lift the sit and this black cover on the left side, there's a red wire which i suppose is the one, but it is attached to something, i don't want to mess with anything, and the battery is at the bottom of the bike oin front of the rear wheel.

Are you having a problem with your battery too?

If so, that might also be your stalling issue. If your battery is that weak, it could cause your motor to die when the RPM's get to low.

Will it stay running if the motor is reved up? If so, you might just need a new battery.

It came here from San Antonio, Mexico City Level is 2400 mts over sea level, I'm sure sometimes i let it on the kickstand, but after so many times starting the battery discharged, i've been reading something, but i really would need a pic of the place where to cpnnect to jump start.
