Ok how many miles do you have? It depends on where and in what conditons you ride whether you should have to change it. I personally have just over 30,000 miles on my M50 and still haven't changed the filter. It's not dirty as I only ride on blacktop normally, well there was the 20 miles I recently rode on gravel, but you get the Idea right? ~mike p.s. when I do change it I'll use the stock filter again.

| 10k miles on it right now. Air filters are pretty cheap, so I don't mind spending some money to replace it, especially since the maintenance manual says to do so. I just replaced the spark plugs, even though the current ones look like they have quite a bit of life left in them, the manual still says to replace them. I ride in AZ, normally it is dry, dusty, and hot. |

| I don't know that you have a choice if you just want to change the filter. If you want something better you need to get a adaptor kit. http://www.thundermfg.com/store/inde...ct_detail&p=44 Check out the above link for options.

| No such thing as a standard air filter for a motorcycle. Everyone of them is shaped different.

| Yes and how long they would last is subjective to your area. I have 16000 on mine and I checked it and it is fine. As for the comment that they are cheap check the prices at your dealer etc....no 5.00 Fram filter here!

| I called the dealership where I bought it from, the guy said it is a regular air filter. Unfortunately no local auto stores carry it and the dealer has to special order it for $60. Quote:

| My idea of a regular air filter doesn't include a $60 price tag.

| If the filter is still in good shape and not really dirty, I would use a compressor and blow it out from the inside to clean and re-use. Here is another members mod idea for the air filter replacement that I just recently posted on another thread. http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...r-mod-m50.html

| M-J.Com Master Poster ![]() | Oneida has them for $30.99, I think that's what I picked it up for from Extreme Suzuki earlier this year. I had about 12,000 miles on the the filter before changing it out and it still looked good. FILTER AIR M50 2005-07 :: OEM Replacement Parts :: Boulevard M50 :: Cruisers :: Oneida Suzuki Inc

I'm going to see how dirty the current filter is, if it still looks good enough, I might wait to replace it. | |
