Default head buffetting

Got a 17"Memphis slim, I'm 6'2", and have severe head buffetting. I rode the same bike as mine, a c90, with a 21" Suzuki shield and still got head buffetting. (but the other bike had 3" H&K's and I smiled so much my cheeks hurt but that's another story). One of the guys suggested lowers. What are some of your experiences and solutions. I really don't want to go for 23" if there even is such a monster!

How about helmet fit. How tight should it be and how hard do you guys cinch the strap?

Hey Charles , try the lowers first , most of the turbulence derives from the air in front of the tank , put on those lowers and push that air out to the side away from the tank .
I've been experimenting with my bike and I use a short Windvest type screen ( and also no screen at all ) and with the lowers ..... no buffeting at all.......a pleasure to ride with or without the screen

I have a C90T, which came with lowers, and I don't have that problem. Also, my helmet is pretty tight on my head, but not so tight that it bothers me. I never thought about my lowers keeping the buffeting down, but that might be true. My friend loaned me a helmet, and it was so loose that it flopped around on my head. I bit the bullet and bought a new one that fit, and it's nicer to ride now. Hotcargo is probably right about lowers. I've never experimented with my C90T, so he for sure knows more about it than I do.

I just made a set of lowers for my Volusia and it really took the helmit bob away. It makes it much nicer on a cold day also.
