| I wanted to know if an airhawk would help me before I commit the $$. I took a bunch of bubblewrap and layered up a 1" thick seat-shaped cushion. I know it is not the same....smaller cells and they dont shift air from cell to cell like airhawk...but I am gonna ride on it for a week or so (leaving on a trip to mid California area).... then I will come back and post how it helped or not. Annie

| Hi Annie , your air cell seat - very innovative and hope it works , a friend has purchased an airhawk out here in Australia , mucho dollars , no worky's , he doesnt like it at all , he says rockin' and rollin' all the time on the big cruiser saddle , he likes his sheep skin cover the best.......enjoy your trip and ride safe........ | First off, good luck with it ! Have a local rider here who swears by his, uses only medium pressure for max cush and easy flex, side to side. On your home made version, don't forget the breathable fabric top cover. Strikes me that that is a valuable part of it. Hmmm, only a passing thought, can't justify it as a full suggestion but . . . what would happen if your version (or one optional version) contained rolls of the bubble wrap, aligned with the length of the bike and just arranged side by side. Any way you slice it, good luck with it. Enjoy your ride. Please post your reactions to AnnieHawks Cush. Quote:

| I have the Airhawk on my C90 and that's covered with a sheepskin. The sheepskin does a good job of handling the heat. I am still unsure about the Airhawk though. I keep making adjustments, trying to find the proper inflation amount. I'm getting close, but still not there. It doesn't do any good to make adjustments on the air seat when you're fresh off the couch. I ride until I get sore and then stop and make an adjustment. Then I'll ride it for a few more days before making any further adjustments. I assume I will find the point where I've adjusted the air enough to conform to my seat. If someone complains that they are rocking around on the seat, that's probably because they have too much air in it. |

| My friend that has the Airhawk has done 3 months of adjusting air pressures , he just cant get it right , he feels it would be better suited to a sport bike seat that are very thin and some what hard , compared to his wide cruiser seat ( Suzuki LC 1500 Intruder) I sat on it the other week , but didnt like it , it rolls around too much and that is with low and high air pressure and the fitting instructions and part numbers , were for his bike as well .........cheers ......Steve in Oz

| ....what a piece of junk I made.... LOL...my cushion came apart and slid over itself almost immediately. Dumb idea. Perhaps if they had been rolls of bubblewrap instead of layers like SKTR says....? Anyway, I bought the airhawk medium cruiser cushion and it is great. Works very well for me and helped the numb tailbone problem on my C50 enormously. I did two rides with it lately... one of 177 miles and one of 146 miles uninterrupted and it was amazingly better. I felt no "sliding around"...only good support. I would feel my tailbone bottom out on the bike only occasionally and that told me that the cushion was doing its job. Annie

| Am I the only one here that actually likes the stock seat? Because other cruisers I have sat on never seem to feel as comfy. Maybe its because I havent tried one of those gel seats? My wide says I'm a hard ass sometimes so maybe shes right....
