Hello from Quebec Canada!

I got My C90, 2005 in june this year. Love it. it's my first cruiser and I had to get used to the low RPM shifting But I got used to it. Great bike and I hope to get as much mileage on it in our short summer.

Default looking for larger trunk rack for 2007 C90

I bought my 2007 C90 @ month ago and it has been 20 plus years since i had a road bike (last one was honda gl1000) I bought the boulevard because the goldwing and harley ultra didn't have enough leg room to be comfortable. So far i like the bike except i bought hard abs saddle bags and an abs trunk and i can't find a rack long enough or wide enough to bolt the trunk on. Has anyone else experienced this problem?? if so any soultions? i may have to fabricate my own if not....thanks

Default C90 ticking

I have the same issue with my 2006 C90 - ticking is driving me crazy. I have already opened a ticket with Suzuki America for the issue. I have to drop it off at the dealership and see what they say. I read in another forum that a rider with an '05 has his in the shop getting new lifters on the front cylinder. Good luck.

Mine tics all the time. It shouldn't be doing it with the hydraulic valves. Are you sure it's a valve and not something else? Embarrassingly enough, I started getting a really bad ticking a couple months ago. Swore it was coming from the engine and it turned out to be the door over the fuel filler. Once I weatherstripped it, it went away, though it still has the normal ticking.

I thought the ticking was valves when I first got the bike and took it in, they said it was normal. I have 25k miles on my bike in the last 2 years and haven't had any problems whatsoever. I change the oil and filter religously every 3000 miles, do other checks and maintenance at the specified intervals.

Any one of your covers that is loose can cause a "ticking" sound. Also, if you have monkeyed with your pipes and did not replace your crush gaskets you WILL get a ticking sound if they are not properly seated. Another sign of this is high speed decel pop, oh excuse me BANG!! Just ask Tricker about that one. I think I blew his ears out.

My ticking sound turned out to be my higway pegs vibrating !

I bought my c90 this past July, love everything except the handlebars, I think I'm going with some drag bars next. But for you guys looking for the 6th gear, I can speak 1st hand about the pcIII, that's your 6th gear. It makes gears longer, adds "q", and horses, I've done 65mph in 2nd gear, but that's with a K&N and cobra pipes though.

Like to know how the 2 into 1 mufflers worked out. I am in the LA area, and wind is/was a factor on my C50's. I put V&H on one and it took care of the wind issue. I just got the C90, and wonder if I will have a wind issue with it. Explanation -- wind from the right tipped the top of the bike right and the wheels to the left. The V&H solved that, the pipes are half the size of the OEMs. I like the sound of the de-baffled C50s, but not the sound of the V&H on the C50. I understand there is a 2 into 1 for the C90. That will be my solution if wind turns out to be an issue. Then, I will figure out how to fashion a tank for the C90, if the prices don't come down to half what they are now at Gman. I guess I am cheap. Ok, what is the story on the 2 into 1 for fuel mileage??

Cobra or HK? I have sideburners and if you don't like Gmans price for a tank than forget about the sideburners, at least 600 bones ++. BTW you will probably get crappy mileage unless you spend more $$ on a fuel processor, another 300 bones ++. So if you are cheap I would recommend to stay stock which would = 0 bones.

As I said, I just bought mine (06 with 10 months warranty left), and the clutch hits way out, compared wth the C50s. Is that normal? It is almost all the way out before the bike moves. I have not read the manual, and am looking for a shop manual for the 2006 in PDF format. Also, there is a burning plastic smell. May have to pull the tank and see if a plastic tie is laying on the head covers or something. Anyone else have these issues? Does the Gman power commander give you better mileage? I think I will be happy with the power, the C50 was powerful enough, I just want better mileage, or an inexpensive Gerry Can.

Vinnie, I will probably jump for the pipes, due to drivers not paying attention, even if the bike does not turn under in the wind, like the C50 did. So I will be half way there. I am more interested in improving mileage than Torque. That will allow me to dodge the cost of the tank, which seems high. Perhaps he is re-couping development cost right now. I know a patent costs 1030.00 to file. Hopefully guys with deeper pockets will help bring the price down by buying some. I am wondering if I can do anything with the fake tank. Can it be modified to hold a gallon or two?

Believe me when I say that the noise of the pipes will not catch a drivers attention. The look of them will, for those that appreciate a cool looking pipe. I have found that my best attention weapon is my Stebel horn. Now that is loud, directs the blast to the front of the bike and can be blasted in whatever burst you choose, unlike the exhaust which is pretty much constant. I have had so many close calls and my loud pipes did nothing to get the bastach cagers attention. The horn is the key!!

As far as mileage that is all going to depend on just how active your right wrist is. The Bully stage 3 can be tuned for a variety of conditions. Want tons of gas pumped in at WOT you can do that or tune it like I do for superslab mileage. At 75 mph I average 45mph. Between 55 and 60 I have gotten as much as 49 and in the city I usually get 40. If I remember correctly stock is probably the same or better. I know that Grandpatractor, JD, got his for the C109rt for super cheap, lucky bastach!! The Bully, IMO, is the best fuel processor out there and it is intended to "unlock" the hp of the bike for performance and not mileage. If you get a PCIII you are going to spend more $$ for the unit and necessary dyno to get it tuned. The Cobra is OK but from experience you are not going to get the same performance and customer service that you will get with the Bully. Gary rides these bikes and he is on this forum and others. Great guy!!

I also have the G-tank and it is well worth the cost. I am a machinist and fabricator and the G-tank is the best fabricated piece of equipment I have ever seen. If you want it cheaper I have seen a couple on eBay and also Gman usually has a super sale toward the end of the riding season, Sept. or Oct. I have gone as far as 145 miles on my stock tank, and unless you have a superazz you are going to need an azz break. I got the G-tank because I wanted to have that extra stretch that other stock bike have. I can go as much as 300 miles on one fill with a couple of azz breaks thrown in. It is nice when riding in a group not being the 1st one to need gas.

To be honest, and believe me we all suffer from this, you are suffering from macho crowitis. It is a disease common to us biker folks. I would honestly suggest that you concentrate more on comfort. Get a backrest, risers, crash bars, hwy pegs, desert dogs, grips, mirrors, vista cruise control, stebel air horn, GPS, custom seat to name a few. These things will greatly add to the comfort and enjoyability of your ride and give you that cool look that make the babes swoon.

just my .02.

Love my 2007 C90T! Though I only have put 120 miles on it since I bought "Suzy" in Oct (my wife named my mistress) I have no complaints. I can't wait for warmer weather so I can rack up some serious miles!

I don't know how I missed this thread, I absolulely love this bike. I never hear anyone talk about the way it handles, with the gas tank under the seat, it corners so nice. As far as the gas tank, it is a little small but like some of you say, I'm ready for a break before I run out of gas. But one thing I'm wondering , why an oil cooler? Why not water cooled? Why not make the C50 oil cooled? I guess it's an engineering thing.

The only thing that I don't like about my C90 is that I can't ride it in the snow.... Supposed to be 52 on Wednesday... Maybe I can get around the block then

I have an 06 model C90. It runs so sweet. I have cobra pipes, K&N Filter and powercommander, I had it tuned on the dyno and it made the bike run fantastic. I have also added heaps of bling, you can never have to much chrome.

I have to agree that a bigger tank would have been a smart decision by suzy but by the time I need fuel, my butt needs a rest.
